Farm Park

Come and meet a whole host of different creatures: from the traditional farm livestock of sheep, goats, pigs and chickens to the more exotic rheas and alpacas. We also have smaller animals, such as rabbits and guinea pigs.

Wish you could take one of our lovely creatures home with you? No problem, we have a variety of animals available to buy or adopt.

Why not make a day of it? Bring a picnic or pick up some lunch boxes from Food4Thought Café, then relax and lunch alfresco whilst watching the little ones play on our traditional wooden climbing frames.

Access to the Food4Thought café is free.

We are ready to welcome you seven days a week serving delicious homemade food and drinks at great prices. We have created a more vibrant experience offering greater space, more comfortable seating, a children’s play area plus plenty of decking outside for the warmer months. We also have FREE wifi so now you can check your emails, meet with colleagues or do your banking while tucking in! There’s no charge to visit the Café, so call in any time you’re passing.

We are delighted to announce that Food4Thought café has recently won the NFAN Best Food & Beverage awards 2017. This is a great achievement and recognition for the clients and staff that work in the café.

Market Garden

The Thrift Farm Market Garden was created by clients and staff during 2016 with the aim of fully engaging the clients in sowing, growing and harvesting fresh seasonal vegetables. A range of vegetables were grown in 2016 including aubergines and tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and leeks.

A seasonal fruit and vegetable growing programme has now been developed by our clients for 2017. So far this year the clients have sown broad beans, peas, turnips, garlic and onions.

We stock a range of homemade jams and chutneys which we make with home grown produce wherever we can, which can be purchased from our Food4Thought Café.

Work is being undertaken to make the Market Garden an informative and educational space for visitors, and once this has been completed we will be able to welcome visitors into this area. There will be no charge to experience the Market Garden.

Just some of the great feedback we’ve received.

My mother and I visited the café for a cup of tea and cake. The service was excellent and the caramel and walnut cake was to die for. The café is modern, clean and well presented and the food homemade with many ingredients used from the farm. It was wonderful to visit such an inspiring place where those with disabilities are given an opportunity to work!
